Spaces we offer
Connect Bute offers welcoming, flexible spaces in the heart of Rothesay for charities, community groups and organisations focused on wellbeing, recovery and connection. Whether you’re hosting a meeting, running a workshop, delivering a service or planning a community activity, we have a space to suit your needs.
Our venue includes two bookable rooms in a range of sizes, along with access to outdoor garden space. Each area has been designed to feel inclusive, comfortable and adaptable for different types of groups and activities. Each room features fantastic photographs taken by members of the Bute Photographic Society.
Each room booking includes access to the communal kitchen and dining area, Ettrick. It is set up for preparing drinks and snacks, with complimentary tea and coffee. You'll also find toilets in this area.
Connect Bute is a self-access community hub built on trust and shared responsibility. Only members can book rooms, and members are responsible for any guests they bring along. Since the centre is unstaffed, we rely on everyone to use the space safely and leave it in great condition for the next person. Since multiple members may share the building at once, we ask all visitors to embody our values of inclusion, mutual respect, and privacy.

Scalpsie
A large, bright and flexible space that can be set up in different styles; rows of chairs, conference style, banquet style and for exercise activties.
Best for:
Meetings, community events, presentations, workshops, group activities and exercise classes.
Capacity:
Seated: 36 people
Standing: 50 people
Exercise mat setup for up to 15 people
Cost:
Free to book for organisations with charitable status.
All other bookings: £7 per hour.
Kilchatten
A spacious, modern room with table and chairs.
Best for:
Team meetings, small workshops, planning sessions, training and seated activities.
Capacity:
The large table seats 8 people
Cost:
Free to book for organisations with charitable status.
All other bookings: £5 per hour.
This room is NOT available to book between Monday - Friday 9 and 5pm
Kingarth
A small, private meeting space, set up in a conversation setting with 4 chairs, coffee table and a desk and chair to the side
Best for:
Private appointments, small meetings, consultations and confidential conversations.
Capacity:
Suitable for 2–4 people.
Cost:
Free to book for organisations with charitable status.
All other bookings: £3:00 per hour.
Our gardens
Our garden is a developing community project, somewhere to slow down, look around and notice what's there.
Herbs and edible plants are being grown here by and for the community, with seeds to take away and grow at home.
When the weather's right, it's also a welcoming space for nature-based wellbeing sessions and quiet reflection.
